What Are The Best Waterproof Orthotics?

Perhaps you have had patients ask you about waterproof orthoses. In my view, the most waterproof orthotic by far is a direct milled polypropylene orthosis with no cover. This all-plastic device is completely waterproof and dries off in seconds. If you require a cover and some cushion, I think the best choice is to use the direct milled polypropylene orthosis with a vinyl topcover and a layer of Poron glued to the bottom of the topcover. Neither of these materials will absorb moisture although they may wear out sooner if they are constantly getting wet.
