Two new wound healing products harness the power of the ocean. The all-natural Ocean Aid Spray and Ocean Aid Moisturizing Foam can heal wounds without antiseptics or disinfectants, according to the manufacturer Ocean Aid, Inc. The company says the product line uses lysozyme, a natural antibacterial enzyme, along with coral reef sea salt in a sterile solution.
The company says Ocean Aid Spray uses an isotonic, purified sea salt solution while Ocean Aid Moisturizing Foam offers an antiinflammatory formula for soothing pain after phenol procedures as well as other nail procedures. Both products received the American Podiatric Medical Association Seal of Approval.

The new Varus/Valgus Wedges can reduce pronation and supination, according to the manufacturer G&W Heel Lift. The company says the wedges can help during heel ambulation and stabilize weak or rotating ankles. They can also decrease loading on the ankle joint, which can reduce pain, according to the company.

Derma Sciences cites a recent study of recalcitrant venous leg ulcers that did not heal with compression therapy. The company says active manuka honey outperformed hydrogel treatment in the patient population.
