A new walking orthoses may provide some relief for patients who have stress fractures or severe sprains.
       Brown Medical Industries recently introduced the Steady Step Walker, which features an adjustable arch support, a low profile rocker sole, a shock absorbing foam insole and flexible locking tongue.
According to Brown, these features facilitate stabilization of the ankle and lower leg, and accelerate healing through support of the arch, malleoli and heel.

Patients with diabetic foot ulcers will appreciate the fact that you’re using the new graduated tuning fork.
       Previously available only in European markets, the graduated fork has arrived in the United States. Manufactured by the German company Arno Barthelmes, the fork can help you diagnose neuropathic conditions.
       The company says it’s a refined alternative to the standard tuning fork, citing the addition of graduated end weights. Adding the weights eliminates intra-examiner and inter-exam ambiguities, according to the company.

A New Beat For Feet
A new line of footwear combines comfort and relief for all types of feet.
The Ariya footwear line from Apex fits the most difficult feet, according to the company. It says the new line helps relieve heel pain, arch pain, general foot pain and common foot disorders. Unique to Ariya is the undersole insert that provides maximum comfort for any fit, according to Apex. Patients suffering from Achilles tendonitis now have another treatment device at their disposal.
       Aircast has unveiled the Achilles Wrap, a pnenumatic compression dressing that requires fewer adjustments and is easier to apply, according to the company. Aircast says the new wrap has aircells under the plantar arch and behind the Achilles tendon to provide dynamic compression for edema control and enhanced circulation.
